# Get a record from ClinicalTrials.gov

Read one record from ClinicalTrials.gov in full through the Assyro API, by the id a search returned: registered studies, cited by NCT number.

Source: https://www.assyro.com/docs/sources/clinicaltrials/records

`GET https://api.assyro.com/v1/sources/clinicaltrials/records/{recordId}`

> **Note:** Preview: `api.assyro.com` is not serving production data yet. This page follows the API's published description and may change before launch.

Read one record from ClinicalTrials.gov in full, with its text where the source has it. Use the record `id` exactly as a [search](https://www.assyro.com/docs/sources/clinicaltrials) returned it, URL-encoded.

> **Warning:** Attribution required: show the record's `attribution` wherever you show it: "Source: ClinicalTrials.gov, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine; data as processed by ClinicalTrials.gov on the date in `version`. Reformatted by Assyro, content not modified."

## Request

`GET https://api.assyro.com/v1/sources/clinicaltrials/records/{recordId}` with these query parameters.

### Read parameters

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `recordId` | string | yes | The record id, as a search returned it (the read argument `nctId`). |
| `nctIds` | string[] | no | Several NCT numbers at once, up to 5, instead of nctId: each study is read and returned as its own record. |

## What a record holds

- `id`, `title`, `url`: the source's identifier, its title and its page at the source, to verify it.
- `authority`, `publishedDate`, `version`: who published it, when, and the edition read.
- `snippet` and `fields`: the matching text and the source's own fields.
- `asOf`: the day Assyro's copy of the source was read.
- `attribution`: the attribution the licence requires.
